Waverley
ClydeNavalGazing correspondent Cathcart Ironside sends this shot of Waverley from Port Askaig (Eilan Dhuira in the foreground) 07 May 2013.
Saturn's last day
Caledonian Macbrayne's stalwart Saturn recently "retired" the car ferry service from Gourock to Dunoon. ClydeNavalGazing correspondent Gordon Law was there.
The star of the show SATURN arrives at Gourock for her penultimate trip to Dunoon.
A farewell from WAVERLEY.
ALI CAT in new ARGYLL FERRIES livery awaits SATURN’S last car ferry run from Dunoon at Gourock.
The old and the new together – ALI CAT moored as SATURN moves astern to the wires following her last car ferry run from Dunoon. ALI CAT takes up a passenger only service with new aquisition ARGYLL FLYER from 30th June from Gourock to Dunoon.

Waverley
Waverley was the first "operational" vessel to use the rebuilt Largs Pier 29 July 2009.

Seen here on her return in the afternoon.

I find it incredible that, when Largs Pier was last operational, members of the public were not allowed access for "health and safety reasons" yet today, Waverley was allowed to disembark passengers across a working building site!

Loch Bhrusda

Caledonian Macbrayne's Loch Bhrusda on relief at Largs with PSPS Waverley arriving from Rothesay in the background 08 July 2008. Interesting, these two vessels are unique (IMHO) as being the most distinctive sounding (in their own, and very different ways!) on the Clyde at the moment. Unmistakeable!
