Research Vessel Aora lies at her mooring in a tranquil Millport Bay 22 March 2008. Aora operates from Keppel Pier under the auspices of the University Marine Biological Station, Isle of Cumbrae, which is an Institute of the University of London, managed in association with Glasgow University. More details can be found here.
Caledonian Macbrayne's Loch Shira lying outside Largs Pier 21 March 2008. The summer timetable started today and she is waiting to carry out the late sailing from Largs to Cumbrae Slip. Little wonder that she doesn't normally berth at the existing pier at Largs! (the wind had moderated and appeared to be swinging Easterly?)
Caledonian Macbrayne's Loch Shira running into the north wester 21 March 2008. Loch Riddon (her usual summer running mate) is still in James Watt dock undergoing repairs to her ramp, so Loch Shira is running full this Good Friday.
Mornes lies at the re-loading berth at Hunterston with Cape Carmel in the background 21 March 2008. It would appear that the re-loader is currently out of commission- sounds expensive!
Sara approaches Hunterston 18 March 2008. maybe she lay in Brodick Bay so long that she needs her lum swept?
Caledonian Macbrayne's Coruisk on the Wemyss Bay - Rothesay run 18 March 2008. By all accounts Coruisk is due to return to Mallaig prior to Macbrayne's summer timetable on Good Friday when Bute returns from overhaul.
[Edit] I now understand that Saturn will take the place of Coruisk when she returns to Mallaig![/Edit]
Caledonian Macbrayne's Loch Portain passing Great Cumbrae en route to Garvel Dry Dock for overhaul 16 March 2008. Mornes leaving Hunterston in the background.
